Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Should I be worried if my house was built in the 1980s?

Worth checking, not worth panicking over. Homes of that vintage across the Raleigh area were often plumbed in polybutylene, which becomes brittle over time. A plumber can identify the pipe in a few minutes at the water heater or under a vanity.

What is the difference between PEX and polybutylene? They look similar.

PEX is the modern replacement and holds up well; polybutylene is the older grey product that fails at fittings. PEX is usually red, blue or white, and stamped along its length. Confusing the two is common, which is why identification matters before anyone quotes a repipe.

Water is coming up through the slab. What is happening?

A supply line under the slab has failed. Shut the water off at the main and call, because slab leaks do not slow down on their own. Repairs range from rerouting the line overhead to opening the floor, and the choice depends on where the break sits.

Who owns the sewer line from my house to the street?

You do. The utility takes over at the main under the road. Anything between that connection and your foundation, including the section under the driveway, is the property owner's to repair.
