Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Can water hammer actually break a pipe?

It can, over time. Each shock is small, but repeated spikes work joints loose, crack fittings and shorten the life of appliance hoses. The banging is the warning, not the damage itself.

How is water hammer fixed?

With arrestors installed near the appliances that cause it, and sometimes by correcting pressure or adding support to a run that is free to move. Old air chambers that have filled with water can also be recharged. It is a plumber's job because it means opening the wall or working at the valve.

Our house is from the mill era. What plumbing should I expect?

Often a layered history: original cast iron drains, galvanised supply replaced in sections, and modern work at the fixtures. Houses of that vintage around McAdenville and Stanley are rarely one system, which is why a diagnosis starts with tracing what is actually there.

Does high water pressure make the banging worse?

Yes. The higher the static pressure, the harder the spike when a valve closes. Checking the pressure regulator is a normal first step, since a failed regulator raises pressure across the whole house.
