Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What makes galvanised pipe lose pressure over the years?

Zinc coating wears off and the steel underneath rusts inward, so the usable bore shrinks. A pipe that started at three quarters of an inch can end up passing a fraction of that. Nothing about the outside of the pipe shows it.

Can a plumber tell how much life old steel pipe has left?

Partly. Cutting a section open shows the wall thickness and the scale build-up, and pressure and flow tests at different fixtures show how restricted the system is. That is usually enough to say whether a repipe is due or whether repairs still make sense.

Who fixes a leak in the yard between the meter and the house?

That section belongs to the property owner. The utility handles the main and the meter. Anyone in La Grange or here with a soggy patch in the front lawn is generally looking at their own service line.

Is a water heater from the 1990s worth keeping?

At that age it is running on borrowed time regardless of how it looks. Sediment in the bottom of the tank insulates the burner and accelerates corrosion, and the failure mode is a full tank of water on the floor.
